How can I tell whether a published answer applies to my product option?

Review the current included features before relying on an informal answer. Do not assume a positive answer covers unspecified accessories or services.

What should I check before agreeing to a seller's proposed resolution?

If the resolution includes several steps, confirm their sequence. If someone else manages the order, confirm that they understand the proposed outcome.

How can I separate essential requirements from preferences before shopping?

List the conditions that would make an option unsuitable. Record which stated details support each suitability judgment.
